The firm is big enough to ensure that all our lawyers are specialists in their field. However, with a total staff of under 15 each member of staff is committed to caring about the outcome for each and every client. Established in 1993 by Aileen Chapman the firm has grown its business by word of mouth, over 90% of new work coming from recommendation.

Legal Aid
We currently hold a legal aid contract in the area of family mediation. If you are eligible for legal aid we will tell you at the outset of your case.

We are based in Somercotes (near Alfreton) in Derbyshire. Having an "out of town" location means that we are not paying city centre rent or rates and can therefore pass the savings onto clients.

This means that we can give excellent value for money while giving you the legal services of the highest quality.

Who We Are

Family

• Aileen Chapman - Principal admitted as a Solicitor in 1986. Qualified as a family
  mediator in 1997 and as a collaborative lawyer in 2005. Member of the Law Society Advanced Family Panel, the Law Society Mediation Panel and Resolution (First for
  family law).
  
• Joanne Fasey - Legal Executive.

Personal Injury and General Litigation

• Babul Miah - admitted as a solicitor in 2004. Litigator Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Also advises on employment disputes, contract disputes, debt, property and partnership disputes. Trained (non-family) mediator undertaking mediation in neighbour disputes.

• Jill Wilkinson - is an assistant to Babul and works in the Dispute Resolution and Compensation Claims Department of Chapman and Chubb. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals with over 9 years experience in Civil and Personal Injury Litigation.

Conveyancing/Property

• Fiona Moore - admitted as a solicitor 1999.
• Kirsty Spencer - conveyancing executive.

• Rachel Polley - admitted as a solicitor in 1999.
